searching/filtering in a macro

is it possible to filter or search a list of data in a macro by refreing to a cell refrence rather that a set value???

help would be greatfully recived

Have you tried using the AutoFilter feature? Has really worked for me inj projects.

yer i have tried the auto filter function but will not let me use a cell refrence, have tried copying and pasting from the cell, but this does not work, it keeps filtering for the original value i pasted

A couple more suggestions:

1. Try searching the posting using the words "search" or "filter" - some real great postings on the subjects;

2. Feel free to seach using my username. I've posted a number of queries on this subject and have received some great advice.
