Hi Everyone,

I am new to the site and I hope I will find a resolution here...

The thing is that I have prepared some formats(Graphics, Tables and other useful things relevant to my job) for work and I want to lock/secure the author properties.

I want anyone could use the formats for their own(the workbook will be editable) but also knıows the formats are prepared by me.

Well I do not say that the protection must be through the author details but is there any other way to do this ?

In short I want to get the credit while helping my colleagues...

Any help would be appreciated... Thanks...

Excel Facts

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
There's no way to do that securely in Excel; anybody moderately competent and inclined to do so could make it appear as their own.

I see. Thanks for the reply...
Like I said it doesn't have to be by securing the author...
How about trying a pop-up message written via vba that pops when you open the workbook? I guess even this will not be enough against such competent users ?

If they disable macros, they'll never see it.

If people are honest, they won't delete a simple statement of origin on an introductory sheet.

If they are dishonest, it's only a question of how much trouble you want to go through to keep the least competent among them from defeating it.
