Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
Secutiry level "Medium" asks you whether to run the macro or not. If it is set to "High", then there is no prompting and the macro will not be executed.
Changing the settings to "Low" will run the macros without your permission, but not at all a good habit.

Maybe all of your other files' macros are signed by a trusted source's digital signature? That would also bypass the enable macros screen if security is set to medium...
