select and sort macro

I am having some serious problems with what i thought would be an easier venture.
I need a macro that would select all the cells with data actually in them (not cells the sheet thinks is active) in columns A & B then sort then by column B (but never incude blank cells) As well the list size in the A&B column with change in the total number of rows. I tried the macro recorder but since it is absolute it only sorts what I selected manaually. I tried a macro to select all data and while that kind of works (once) cause if you change the size of data in A&B or touch a cell ousite the data area it remembers those cells and incudes them. Not sure if I am making any sense. Been a real rough week .
Thanks for looking
