Greetings,
I am in spot of bother.I have 13000 lines in which there will be various ranges that need to be evaluated. The ranges are broken up by a blank line. The ranges are defined by duplicates in Column C.There may be no duplicates,1,2,3,4 etc.I need to establish the range and then loop through this dynamic range doing stuff through Select Case.Once I have evaluated all the cells in this range, move to the next range and evaluate it.
Thanks
Budge

Intended as humor.

You have a detailed inquiry, a good example of how to post.

However, this seems to be the sort of challenge that obligates a dialog between the programmer, and a "client"; which could take several back-and-forth communications to get right.

The "13000 lines" detail is appreciated; perhaps this can't be done in program memory perhaps 'scratch worksheets' may be created.

(This is a good time for my two monitors; one for my response, one to show your request...)

What is the targeted Excel version?
Only one column to analyze, correct? Which column?
"The ranges are defined by duplicates in Column C" could you explain?

Defining the tasks:

Remove duplicates (Prompt user, regarding sound-alikes?)

Starting at end of worksheet, define the first range.

"Do stuff" (This is your responsibility, or do you plan to task the programmer after they 'buy-in' to this project?)

Find next range.
"Do Stuff".
Repeat until top of sheet.

Another thought:

If this is simply a one-shot/infrequent deal, the user could define the range by selection, start the macro, and "do stuff" on the selected area.

This would cut back on the coding.

Hey Steve,
I will get back to later with more
details.Essentially it is dynamic ranges that need to be stored and evaluated. Then move to next range. The duplicates are names of suppliers. The do stuff is for me to work out.
