Hi
When I select a group of cells which has numbers, I can see the total in the taskbar (the gray bar at the bottom) which is good, but when I move to other file, I loss that, then I need to highlight them again. Is there anyway I keep them highlighted or keep the total somehow showing in the taskbar. Thank you very much.

Not everything I do at work revolves around Excel. Only the fun parts.
If I select a group of cells and have total shown. Switch to another file, the total shown will disappear because the task bas is now showing status for new active sheet. Even if I select new group of cell on the new sheets and then go back to previous sheet, the selected cells are still selected and display the total number like before.

No, I don't think you can freeze the status of previous sheet. Even if you split the screen using View Side by Side and you are able to see two status bar, the total will be displayed for sheet whichever is active (the one you click) unfortunately

I normally use Windows+Shift+S and take a snip of the value I want to refer back to.
