Hi,

I have a list of invoices that go for well over a thousand lines, and I want to be able to wite a formula so that excel picks up the lines that will equal a predetermined number.

To be specific, the total of the invoices is well in exess of £3 million, However, i simply want to select invoices that when added together will equaly exactly £750,000 (or the closest possible number). Any invoice can be chosen, but obviously it can only be chosen and counted once.

I can do this manually, but it will be a trial and error situatuion, which may in truth take hours each time it is required.

Thanks so much!!!

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
