I want to select a cell (using code) in a different workbook that I am working in.

Say I am working in workbook 1 and I want to select cell AK5 in workbook 2.

Workbook 2 is closed. Do I have to open it first???

It is also hidden. Do I have to unhide it before I select the cell?

How can I do this?

Thank You
Marty

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Just record opening, unhiding and selecting that sheet/cell.

VBA will give you the correct file path & syntax.

But why select at all? What are you trying to do?

I am checking numbers in another spreadsheet. The numbers I am checking are listed in the second workbook and it also has information the 1st workbook doesn't have.

I would have to talk to you to explain further...

Thanks for your input
