I've just started a new job today, and it seems as if everything that can go wrong has. Nothing that's really my fault but because of it all I was hoping to prove how reliable I can be by not buckling under this pressure.
Well basically I was hoping someone could aid me in figuring out how to select every first of three rows in a column on Microsoft excel.

To help you further understand my situation, it's basically that they gave me an excel spreadsheet with the first rows containing the name of a school and the second and third containing addresses. I would only need every first of three rows.

I'd really appreciated the help.

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
A quick and easy suggestion: Use a helper column (to the left or right of your data) and fill it down with the repeating series 1 2 3. Then sort on this column in ascending order. All of your "1's" will be at the top giving the first of every three row grouping.

wow, what an awesome and simple solution! I was trying to work out something with a formula.

Keg65 -- welcome to the forum and good luck with the new job. :)

Thank you I really appreciate it, and the immediate response. I will try this as soon as my computer starts... it's been running updates for the past two hours.

Well my first day went so much better once the computer finally started. I ended up using the simpler solution rather than the formula (which even I thought I'd need) and got the work done in no time. Anyways, before I get back to work I simply wanted to thank you guys again for all the help.
