hi All,

I've got an Excel macro to send an email using CDO. It works fine on one computer but not on another computer. I get the "transport failed to connect to server" error message. I'm using a corporate Exchange 2003 server for SMTP. Any thoughts on why CDO works on one computer and not on another?

Thanks!

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
Have you looked at Ron de Bruin's page on...
Sending mail from Excel with CDO

There is a Read this!!! section you might find helpful.

This...
Note: If you get this error : The transport failed to connect to the server then try to change the SMTP port from 25 to 465
...is at the end of the Can you use CDO on your machine? section.

I've already tried port 465, same result. I've gone through everything on Ron's site and just about every discussion I can find via Google. Any other thoughts?

Got it solved!

I stumbled across lots of talk about McAfee, which ended up being the culprit. VirusScan was blocking outbound emailing but on one machine excel.exe had been added as an exception.
