send string to specific port on server

Hello,

What I'm trying to do is send a string from Excel to a server, via a specific port.
There is a listener service running on the server, awaiting input.
I have done some searching on the internet but have found no solutions.
Do you reckon that doing this is possible with Excel (macro?) ?
