Sendkey how to

I am trying to update the SeriesCollection of a table with the variable "range".
If I try to do it with
range= ActiveSheet.Range("C18").Value
Sheets("template").Select
ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 6").Activate
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1).XValues = range

it produces a run time error 1004:
XValues method of Series class failed.

Apparently you cannot use copy and paste to change the Source data of the graph.
It may work with a Sendkey command but I don't know how to do that,
can somebody please help me?

I've never heard of that.

But I have heard many a time that SendKeys should be avoided like the plague.

To use a variable in VBA to assign a range to a chart Series you have to include the workbook name. See this previous post.
