Separate tabs in taskbar

When using Excel in WindowsXP, it used to be that if I had 2 separate workbooks open I would have 2 separate buttons in the Taskbar. This was great because I was able to go back and forth between open files using Alt+Tab. Recently this hasn't been happening. Instead, any open Excel files are listed under one button in the taskbar and Alt+Tab does not switch between open files. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but I hate using the mouse when I am using excel. I have tried almost everything I could think of (which was basically to look under the options and windows menus in excel) but can't find anything. I tried to adjust the taskbar settings in Windows so that "Group similar taskbar items" was unchecked, but still nothing. If anyone knows of this could you please help me. I tried looking in the forum, but to be honest I am not even really sure what wording I should use to find this. Thanks

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
In Excel, go to Tools\Options\View tab and make sure the option for 'Windows in taskbar' is selected.
