How do you separate data into separate cells. Thanks

ex

A1=905
separate into
B1=9
C1=0
D1=5

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
How's your data set up? Post your sheet if possible and give expected results. Some of the text functions might get you there (LEFT, MID, RIGHT etc) but can't be sure...

Just taking out the 1 that probably crept in on Aladin during development:

=--MID($EU83,COLUMN()-COLUMN($EU$83),1)

Is there a formula to sepparate just the first letter of a cell, then the first of middle name in to adjoining cell then the first letter of last name in the next cell?
For instance: Cell A2="John Albert Smith
How do I get Cell B2 to contain "J"
C2 to contain "A"
D2 to contain "S"

=--MID($EU83,COLUMN()-COLUMN($EV$83)+1,1)

is meant to be entered in EV83 and copied across, so it is anchored to the first cell it will be in.
