Serial number workbook

I need some help with a serial number workbook. So far I’ve set the workbook up so that each part number has its own worksheet. I need help writing a macro that will search the workbook for the desired worksheet, find the last serial number used, generate the next serial number(last serial number +1) and display the new serial number so the operator can write in on their information sheet. Is this doable?
