Hello Gurus,

How are you? I have a question. In an excel file which is shared across dropbox. How do I program a macro that would check on each time when opened for read-only attributes. If read-only attributes are not set then set it.

Thank you and will appreciate.

insert the code into a module, then:
sFile = "c:\temp\myfile.xlsx"
SetFileReadOnly sFile

Code:
Public Sub SetFileReadOnly(ByVal psFile As String)
SetAttr psFile, vbReadOnly
End Sub

Thank you ranman256,
from a different blog I get this code and make it work with whenever excel file opens up.

VBA Code:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
ActiveWorkbook.ChangeFileAccess Mode:=xlReadOnly
End Sub
