I have a large workbook with several sheets. Some of the cells are updated via macros, and others contain in-cell formulas.
If I do NOT have a print area selected, the calculation of the workbook takes around 25 seconds. If I do have a print area (any size) selected, the calculation only takes around 5 seconds. I've verfied this on Office 2000 and Office 2003. My macros don't do any printing or functions associated with printing.
Is this normal/common knowledge, and is there a way to fix this? i.e. not set a print area and have a fast calculation?
