Hello,

Is it possible to change my default number format to:

Number format = number (not general)
Decimal places = zero (not 2)
Use 1000 sperator , (not blank)

I nearly 100% always work with these settings and wondered if it was possible to change my defaults.

Many Thanks
Mark

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
In Excel help, type in "Customize the defaults for a workbook or worksheet by using a template". This should help you do what you want.

Hiya, Thanks for the info.

It seems this was a two part question.

You gave me the info on how to save off a template so that my settings will become the default for every new workbook. thank you very much.

but it didn't tell me how to make the template use the settings that I required as per previous post but I stumbled on Format > Style, modified the 'Normal' stlye as I wanted and then saved this as my template. Believe it or not, I did not know you could do that.

Cheers for that :)
Regards
Mark
