Well, the problem I am having has exhausted all knowledge of mine. Help! I have 2 columns of data, and I wish to make a chart/graph relating the two columns together. The type I want to make is a single-line graph. The problem is, when I go to create the graph the x-axis constantly reverts to a constant 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, with each row of data represented as two lines in the y-axis. I would like to set the 2nd column as the values for the x-axis and the 1st column for the values of the y-axis in a one line graph. Please help as soon as possible! This assignment is due thursday!

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Using your mouse, select the 2 columns of data and then create an XY scatter plot.

This will make a graph with the first column set as the x-axis values and the 2nd column as the Y-axis values. Don't worry about the oreder at this stage, just complete making the graph.

Once you have your graph, click on it once to select it and then use the CHART - SOURCE DATA pull down menu. You can now redfine which range is to be the X-Values and which is to be the Y-Values by clicking on the little icons at the right hand end of each range box.

Thank You

Thank you for your help; soon after posting this I found out that the scatter plot was the right choice instead of the line graph. It made me feel like an idiot but oh well. Thanks for taking the time.
