Hey guys,
I'm trying to finish my excel homework, but I'm struggling with few exercises.
Here are the screens with database and tasks:

6,9,10 are the exercises I cannot do properly.
In ex.6 I tried to use a VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP form, but didn't succeed. Is it possible to complete this task by using this function?
In ex.9, when comparing ranks from 2011 and 2012 I don't know what to do at all because of different formats (1-1st???), and I am not allowed to change them.
Second part of ex.9 I've done partially, by nesting IFs. The only problem is that when value in column AE is "---", the formula counts it as regress.

Any ideas?

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.

macek, most members are reluctant to do your homework for you, but will assist and guide, if you have shown willingness to do most of the work yourself :)

I am not allowed to access file-hosting sites, so can you show samples here of what you are working with, and also show exactly what formulas you have tried - and what didn't work

This is my formula for the last column:
=IF(Z7>AE7;"+";IF(Z7<AE7;"-";IF(Z7=AE7;"=";)))
What I have wrong is for example cell AG9 - this should be a progress("+"), but it's not.

I also dont know how to write a function for AF progress column. It should refer to A and AD columns, but these are different types - a number and a text.

For AB column i tried to use VLOOKUP, this is what i made - =VLOOKUP(MAX(F7:Y7);$A$34:$B$44;AB6;1). I know it's totally wrong(isn't it?) and I'd like to know how to use it properly.

I managed to get some results in AB column(Ex.6.), but it's still not enough. The formula is =HLOOKUP(MAX(F7:Y7);$A$35:$B$44;1;FALSE)
