I know how to make a cell change color based on the choice you make in the drop down box...but how do I get the entire row that cell is on to switch to that color when the choice is made?

(ex. When you choose "Yes" the box turns green. I want the entire row to turn the same color simultaneously)

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
you want to make a conditional format
Select the row then select Format - Conditional Format - Formula
=c2="YES"
then select the format pattern green.

Welcome to the Board!

You can select the entire row and goto Format-->Conditional Formatting-->Formula Is-->=$A1="YES"-->Format-->Pattern-->Green.

Adjust the cell reference as necessary.

Hope that helps,

I cant get it to work. It's not changing the color of the row when I choose the yes/no option. I'm assuming that since it's in row A3...that I use that instead of A1 you posted....

Frustrating. Still not working. I'm just trying to get A3 thru H3 to turn green when I choose the yes option in G3...and still no luck. I'll keep playing with it I guess.

Select A3:H3-->Format-->Conditional Formatting-->Formula Is-->=$G3="YES"-->Format.

All though most may see this as very basic and obvious make sure that you have the quotations around the "yes" in your conditional formating or nothing will happen. I was trying to do the same thing but without the quotaitions it wont recognize the yes or no.
