Using Excel 2000, is there a way or a version of Excel, that will allow true merging ? I tried to fill in the same cell while another worker filled in that cell and when I saved mine, it just deleted his ??? This is a shared workbook, isn't it supposed to just move his entry to the next availible row ?

thanks for looking, M

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Nope, one or the other takes precedence. Excel's not going to move it to the next row.

Resolving conflicts When you save changes to a shared workbook, another person who's currently editing the workbook might have saved changes to the same cells. In this case, the changes conflict, and a conflict resolution dialog box appears that allows you to decide whose changes to keep.

You also have some conflict resolution options in the Advanced tab when you first set it up.

Now there is real-time sharing if you use the Excel web app, but I don't know what rules it has for conflict resolution.
