sharing a workbook on a server

When you go to open a workbook that someone else is using in Excel 2003, it says "workbook in use by XXXXX". We've just upgraded to Excel 2007 (yay we're only 4 years behind the times now). I wonder, is there a way for two people open the same workbook at the same time?

Or is this like crossing the streams in Ghost Busters? i.e. it's never gonna happen.

thanks!

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
You can 'share' workbooks but personally I find that they are more trouble than their worth. See 'Shared Workbook' in Excel Help and in particular check the 'limitations'.
I don't know if a workbook can be shared between different versions of Excel but if they can I would certainly advise against doing it.

It should offer you the option of opening as read-only. Is that no use?
