Hello
I need a little help with the following:
I've created an MS Access database and split it into a front end and back end.
I've connected 2 laptops to a router and on each set up the Home Group.
With the front and back end on Laptop 1, I managed to access the database no problem on Laptop 2.
However, I'd like both users to have access to the db at the same time, so I made a copy of the front end, saved it on the hard drive of Laptop 2 and linked it to the back end on Laptop 1.
The problem is when both users open their front ends, neither can change or add any data.
Does anyone know why this won't work? I'd really appreciate some guidance as I don't know much, if anything, about networking and so on. Can my end goal even be achieved without sticking the back end on a networked server?
Both laptops are running Windows 7 and using MS Office 2007.
Thanks.
