sheet extending outisde screen limits on opening

Hello,
This has recently happened and would appreciate if anyone could provide reason and solution.When I try to open a spreadsheet it opens ok but it extends way past the right side of the screen and is narrower than normal. When I scroll across and click the middle button it comes back to normal size.
Also sometimes when I click on the spreadsheet in the desktop it goes down to the task bar where Excel is pinned and then the only way I can open it is to right click and then restore and it also opens up in the enlarged version.

Hello Mole999,
Thank you for reply. I have a second monitor attached to my lap top.I don't think I used that spreadsheet in the larger monitor but may have.When I click on any of the spreadsheets I have saved on my laptop desktop they go straight down to the taskbar at the bottom and nothing happens when left clicking.If I hover the mouse over the sheet in the taskbar then right click it gives me the choice of restore ,minimise or close.When I click on restore that makes the sheet open but much wider than my laptop screen.
