Does anyone know any method of establishing how big (in Mb) each sheet is within a Workbook?

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Hi brisbane bob,

The only way I know if is to delete the sheet, SaveAs the file to a new dummy file, and compare the sizes of the two files. The difference is the size of the deleted sheet. Just be careful not to accidentally save the file, overwriting the one with the sheet.

Thanks, Damon. (Sorry about delay - I've been on holiday).

That's the way I use - but there must be some other way!

Hi again bob,

I don't know of another way. But if you must do this a lot it would certainly be possible to write a macro that would do the sheet delete, save and size comparison and give the result. This would save you from having to perform the steps manually. It could also be designed to restore the original file.

I hear what you're saying but Excel must add up the size of each cell, total the size of each sheet and combine them into the total Workbook size. I don;t think Excel can treat it as a 'flat file'.
