I am having problem trying to change the short-cut key. I have this macro that I originally have a short-cut key using Ctrl+j which I tried changing to Ctrl+m by going into the command Tool>Marco>Option but somehow but it will not work. Any reason?

Excel Facts

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.

Can you explain in more detail what you mean by "it will not work"?

Is it not bringing up any macros?
Is it not allowing you to type in the shortcut?
Is it allowing you to type in the the shortcut, but just not taking?

What if you try Control-Shift-J instead of Control-J, does that seem to work?

What I did was to set the short-cut key in Option setting to Control j after pressing the Alt+F8 keys. The macro did not execute if I press the Control plus j keys.

It works for me.
Alt + F8
Select macro
Press Options.
Enter "j" then press OK.

Press Ctr + j, the macro is running.

After you go in and re-set it to CTRL-j, if you go back in to ALT-F8 then Options for that macro, does it look like your change "took" (i.e. does it actually display CTRL-j as your shortcut)?

Also, what is your Macro Security level set at? It isn't set to High, which would disable all macros, is it?
