I know this is easy but I am not finding it anywhere. I know there are shortcuts to get the top and bottom of columns, etc.

But is there a shortcut to get to the first cell in a column that has data?

In otherwords there may be a lot of blanks at the top of the column and then data at the bottom, I would like to know if there is a quick shortcut to get to that first cell.

Thank you.

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).

Hold ctrl and press down arrow (ctrl+ (down arrow))

Do you mean something other than selecting the first cell in the column and then Ctrl+down arrow?

Yes, CTRL and down-arrow brings you to the last item in the column, what I need is a quick way to get to the first cell that has data in a column, which may be 10K rows down.

Say you have data starting in column A, row 10000 and all cells A1-A9999 are blank: Selecting A1 and then hitting Ctrl+down arrow will take you to A10000 (the first cell with data).

Thank you, that also brings me to the last data in the column, I have not found anything that brings you to the first data in the column no matter where that data is 2nd line or 10002 lines down.

In that case, Excel does not believe that your cells are actually blank. You could select the column, press Ctrl+F, then * and then press Find next, or Enter.

Thank you, that must have been the issue as the Find and * worked.
