show exact time

hi all i have 2 cells in which time is given in format hh:mm:ss , i have differenciated both whatever difference is their between them it get showed in different cell , but my cell is not showing exact time difference its showing up as ###### , please help???

Excel won't display negative times unless you are using the 1904 date system.

If you cannot guarantee to always be subtracting the earlier time from the later time, then you should be able to use this formula to force it...

=MAX(A1,B1)-MIN(A1,B1)
