Is there anyway I can format a sheet to highlight any cell with external links ??

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
Insert this in a General module:

Function IsLink(Rng As Range) As Variant
    If Rng.Count > 1 Then
        IsLink = CVErr(xlErrNA)
    Else
        IsLink = Rng.Formula Like "*]*"
    End If
End Function

Then use a Conditional Formatting formula like this:

=IsLink(A1)

where A1 is a reference to the cell you are formatting.
