show ++ instead of ##### in cells with values too large to display in cell

Hi All,

I'm looking for a solution which does not involve using a conditional (ie =If( ) formula in each and every cell to replace ###### with ++ when the number is too large to fit in the cell. It would be great if the solution could be a format under the special format section or a conditional format (although they are an absolute pain when it comes to large ranges) or some VB script (perhaps a script to go through each and every cell, detect if ###### and overlay a white box with ++ in - problem is this may get very messy if you are resizing and moving cells about and so you would need to be able to remove them and then reapply easily).

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know

Thanks in advance

Rodp
