It's just a presentation thing...

I'm trying to get a lengthy sheet description to show on 2 rows in 1 cell.
In theory, easy, BUT, the cell is shorter than the length of a row of text & hence it's not working.

If I had the text on 1 row, it would poke out the end of the cell & continue along the page, but having put it on 2, it either shows as continuing on 1 row, or wraps itself all in the 1 cell in many rows.
What I want is for there to be 2 rows of text in the cell, both poking out & continuing along the page.

Merging the cells is not an option as somewhere along the line the sheet gets copied & pasted as values, which, even if the destination template is identically sized, regularly doesn't work so merged cells are not an option.

Is there a way to do it, or am I going to just have to cry & mess with the perfection of formatting on my spreadsheet?

Thanks
:)

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
The best I can offer you is.....

Insert a number of blank columns to the right of your text and wrap the text. Now highlight the cell and the balnk cells then:
Format cells>alignment>horizontal>center across selection. Try it if its not what you want don't do it other wise :)

Ha, it works! I tried it earlier when all the text was sitting on 1 row & it didn't, but if I activate the cell so it wraps it all in the cell then set the center across selection, it works. It's not neatly aligned left, but definitely better than the alternatives...

Thanks
