I have a database which I would like to allow users of the spreadsheet to enter data. However, I would like to control the format of entry. Is there a way to modify the existing excel Dataform for this purpose? For instance, to block out certain fields for input and still keep the autofilter parameters for all fields, or perhaps add drop down menus for some fields. I could probably do this through a new userform, but was looking for a shorter method.

thanks in advance.

Tom.

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Hi tmanger,
There is no way to modify the dataform FOR ALL I KNOW.
If you woluld like to do that, you need to use an userform as you wrote.
