showing Unicode symbols in spreadsheet

Is there a function in Excel that will display unicode characters similar to how the CHAR() displays ASCII characters? I trying to write a formula in a cell that will display the characters you would get using the insert symbol menu on the Insert Tab, I've been able to display the ASCII characters using the CHAR function and I just discovered the the UNICHAR function will display the number if you put in the symbol as the argument.
