I'm looking to supplement my full time job doing some excel/ VBA stuff on nights and weekends as a part-time side gig. I'm constantly helping people around my company solve excel problems, I'd have to think there are lots of other people who could use help like that (personally and professionally). Is there a market for this kind of service?

Can anyone provide a lead I can check out?

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
i used to teach excel 1:1, this was back in 2010-2014 ish , didnt have a lot of jobs , but a few , mainly people who needed for job / starting a new job, and didnt have the skills they knew would be needed
Also for house hold budgets, a couple of people who needed for business / bookkeeping
usually about 6-8 weeks sometimes twice a week for 1hour
I used a few of the teacher sites ,

but things have moved on a lot these days with youtube etc , and I retired back in 2016

One of the problems with having Excel as a side gig is that companies often have a lot of sensitive information in their spreadsheets that they don't want to share with 3rd parties. Helping people internally works great but working with 3rd parties becomes a big security / privacy problem. You may be able to run training courses but there is already a lot of learning material online.

What I have discovered while trying to get work creating Excel solutions is that the managers think that:
1) As a consultant, it's going to cost a lot of money
2) Because they don't know Excel's massive capabilities, there is no way it can solve their automation needs
