Hello,

Is there any way other than a digital signature that you can sign your databases?

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.

Welcome to the Board!

I don't think so, but you can do a Self-Cert, which is pretty simple, easy and free, instead of applying for a real Certification. Its great for around the office use.

Also, I don't know if it is true in earlier version of Access, but in Access 2007 you can set up "Trusted Zones", which basically says to trust any Access database that is run from a specific drive mapping (for example, automatically trust any Access databases stored in C:\MyDatabases\). So it isn't always necessary to sign the database to have it be trusted.

Thank you. I have the Self Cert. Now how do I apply it to my existing Access database. (2003)

I created a self-signature in 2003.

When I take it to 2007, it display "Digital signature is invalid and cannot be trusted"

No option to dispute the claim. How do I change that?

That's odd. I have two, one I created in 2000, and one I created in 2003, and I am able to use/sign Access 2007 projects with both.

I created one in 2007. Did see the "Choose Signature" in 2007 untill I did so

Next question: What is the process to install "my signature" on other computers in the office. Without that it will not let me accept the Macros on those computers
