Simple Conditional Formatting formula.

Hi.

When in row which is sorted, how can I get underline to the last word before next row, which starts with new letter.

Let A1 be the first cell of the range of interest.

Use =A1<>A2 as formula in cond format and use the Border tab for "underlining".

Select range A3:A11. Conditional formatting formula is:

=OR(ISBLANK(A4),(LEFT(A4,1) > LEFT(A3,1)))

I see I forgot applying LEFT... It should have been:

=LEFT(A3)<>LEFT(A4)

No, it doesn't. You should have adjusted the start cell... It should have been...

=A3<>A4

I can imagine...

I used letters as data... & forgot adding LEFT to the formula.
