Hi.

When in row which is sorted, how can I get underline to the last word before next row, which starts with new letter.

Sir Vili.

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Let A1 be the first cell of the range of interest.

Use =A1<>A2 as formula in cond format and use the Border tab for "underlining".

Hi Andrew.

Your formula made it just as I wanted. Thank You.

Hi Aladin.

Your formula made underlines in every row. That was not my Conditoinal Formatting intention. Anyway I thank You for Your attention to my problem and for Your reply.

Regards Sir Vili.

I see I forgot applying LEFT... It should have been:

=LEFT(A3)<>LEFT(A4)

No, it doesn't. You should have adjusted the start cell... It should have been...

=A3<>A4

I have to agree with the OP:

Ian,

I can imagine...

I used letters as data... & forgot adding LEFT to the formula.
