simple excel application

I am trying to format a collum in excel to be pasted onto another worksheet. However, when I do this, the format of the collum I copy changes to the format of the worksheet I paste it on. ex. b12/c12 turns into the b12 and c12 of the sheet I past it on instead of holding the value of the original worksheet. How can I copy and paste items that will hold thier formula value to thier original worksheet?

then edit paste special...
