Hello, i am producing hundreds of spreadsheets and need to name the tabs in accordance with a certain cell on each. I am using a custom macro button to do this on each active sheet by copying and pasting into the name. Or trying to! I can't make the following macro work, can you help, or is there another way which is better?

Range("a7").Select
Selection.Copy
ActiveSheet.Name = Range("A7").Paste

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Hi

You don't need to replicate a "Copy and Paste" function - just use the value of the cell - i.e.

ActiveSheet.Name = Range("A7").Value

That should do you

Cheers
Martin
