What is the formula, if I want to get the sheet name in cell A1?

At least I hope it is simple.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
One way
=RIGHT(CELL("filename"),LEN(CELL("filename"))-SEARCH("]",CELL("filename")))

Beware: It behaves a little funny if you are switching and calculating on multiple worksheet within a workbook.

you could also place the following code in your worksheet object windows:

Private Sub Worksheet_Activate()
Range("a1").Value = ActiveCell.Worksheet.Name
End Sub

and it would return the sheet name to cell A1 each time you activate a sheet containing this code
