I did a search through the previous threads but wasn't able to find any that dealt specifically with a simple ratio.

I tried the =AD3/GCD(AD3,AD4) &”:”&AD4/GCD(AD3,AD4) but I end up with a #NAME? error. I search Google relentlessly, but there were no references to cell formatting (they are currently formatted as General. I'm not sure what I am missing.

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
You are using the wrong type of quotes, they should be " not slanted ”
