I am trying to obtain a % total for:
F1/E1 (61/6)=91% easy enough. The numbers are time service related and represent do or die. the goal was reach 61 times out of 67 = 91%

now i am trying to calculate for a secondary goal. in the 6 (above) there is 1 (unit) that was outside the second goal.

My formula looks like this:
=sum(e1+f1-h1)/sum(e1,f1)

Does that seem right?
Is there a more efficient way to write the formula?

Hi Mike, I'm lost. 61/6 does not =91%.

Do you mean 61/67=91% and that of the remaining 6 items there is 1 that you want to represent as a percentage. As a percentage of what?

If

F1=61
E1=67

then what is in H1 and what do you want to see as a result??

ok. sorry. its hard to do this all in writing

61 units were on time, 6 were late. overall thats 91%

in the late i need to measure the percent of the total 67 that was over another time threshold = 1 unit. that 1 unit is in the 67 already.

I was thinking the formula was to take the (61+6-1)/(61+6). I did that and it seems to work, just wondered if there was a cleaner way to do it

OK, you haven't said what's in all of your cells so based on that your formula works and I would leave it that way!

You're really saying you want 66/67.

The addition and subtraction to get there just depends on the data you have in your cells. I wouldn't worry too much - it's unlikely to be a processor-intensive calculation ;)
