Hi All,
I need to complete a task each morning and I don't quite know what the easiest way of doing it is.

Each morning at work ill get a set of figures in an Excel spreadsheet which I need to group together to make groups of 280. Example data:

37
37
67
53
35

28

So with these figures I need to make groups of as close to 280 as possible. The figure can be lower but not higher if required.

At the moment I just do the maths myself clicking cells in Excel adding them up and marking them a specific colour so I know which ones I have already picked.

But is there a formula, an option or way to do this quicker in Excel?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Here's one way to do this. The yellow fill shows the end of a group and is obtained by conditional formatting as follows:
select B2:A57 and use the condition =$C2=""
Copy the formula in B2 all the way down to the end of the data.
