I have to color the cells in a column based on their values (high, medium, low). I have created 3 separate conditional formatting rules for each value (high, medium, low) & it works fine.

But, is there a better / smarter way? Instead of creating 3 separate conditional formatting rules, is it possible to create a single conditional formatting rule (high->red, medium->amber, low->green) covering all 3 conditions (high, medium, low)? I want to do this using formula & not using VBA code!

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
If you have text in the cells, then you need to create a separate rule for each colour.

I'm doing that already as mentioned in my first post. I thought there could be a smarter way to cover 3 rules for the same cell with single conditional formatting

Nope, fraid not. As I said, if the cells have text, you need one rule per colour.
