solver help

I have binary 1 or 0 in column a and names in b and prices in c.

binary, name, price

the binary tells me to select or not.

I want to pick 2 from the list of 10 to give the highest total price.

a simple problem but I can't get solver working. I really want to expand and increase from 10 when it works.

I can't get a screen shot as I am on my phone.

any ideas how I do it? I have searched for examples but no use.

ok in d1 if I have

if(a1=1,c1,"")

in e1 I total up the column c of prices.

and have the numbers 10 to 1 down column c in order, and a condition that the total sum of column a is 2, and column a is binary I still can't get solver to select the numbers 10 and 9 , when e1 (total prices) is set to solve to find the maximum.

As this is difficult to help without seeing the file (how you set up the solver - the problem is very clear to me), please upload the file at a filehosting website.

Excel and the file will store the last settings of the Solver.

thanks many apologies and I agree.

unfortunately I am still on my phone rather than pc.

I did not change the default solver settings.
