I am pretty sure that if you create a named range (through VBA) with a value for “RefersToR1C1” that is not in the form of “R1C1” you will get a "Catastrophic Error"...whic is ominous to read and difficult to undo.

All my sheets were duplicated in the VBA explorer window, so I had to go back to an earlier version and copied in code from the corrupt sheet bit by bit until i could narrow down what was offensive. And I am pretty sure I got it resolved....knock on wood.

Looking for hints on what it was online, it seemed like you might be able to get that error a few different ways- so I thought I would throw a little documentation out there on this particular way of generating it.

....that was a doosey.... ;)

no reply needed (again knock on wood)- thank you!
