Hi

In cell a1 to a50 the text has no spaces before the text starts but in cell b1 to b50 there is a space or two before the text, whats the easy way to remove the space

Thanks

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).

If there are no valid spaces to keep, simply highlight the column, do a Search and Replace, replacing a single space with nothing.

If there are spaces to keep, you can use the TRIM function.

The TRIM function removes all spaces from the front and back of the the text string, and all duplicate spaces in the middle. To apply the formula on cell B1, the formula would look like:
=TRIM(B1)

Take a look at the TRIM worksheet function in Excel help (simply pull up Help in Excel and type in "TRIM worksheet function").

Excel's Help does a great job with functions, giving detailed explanations and examples. It is a great tool that I use all the time.
