My last question was answered so promptly and accurately I have decided to give it another try. I am trying to sort data by date to create weekly production tracking sheets. I have created 52 sheets for the weeks of the year and would like to send the info to the right sheet by the date which is entered on daily production. Any thoughts?

Hi EDMONd. You are not making it easy on yourself by creating so many sheets to manage your data. This will be a nightmare to update and maintain.

Excel works best like a database where data is contained in one long list and then 'views' of this data are obtained by using lookup formulas or pivot tables.

Maybe more information will help. I am responsible for tracking production on 72 machines. The machines are split between 8 operators. I also have to track production quantity, quality and productivity. I use 72 sheets in a workbook to enter data by machine. The 72 machine sheets are linked to a sheet in a separate workbook where productivity percents are recordedand averaged by operator. All I need now is to find a way to track and record production averages weekly. ( I presently get averages over the total job run.) Any input would be greatly apprieciated.

Hi, suggestions will largley be based upon how the data is structured. If you want an average it should be simple enough but I presume its not as simple as just using the AVERAGE formula or else you wouldnt have posted here?

You can provide a snapshot of a sheet layout by using the HTML Maker addin (see link at bottom of page) and describe what your having problems with.

It is actually separating the data by date that has me stumped. I got the HTML maker but im not sure how to post with it. I am sure that there is an easier way than what I am trying to do,but, with my limited ability I donn't know which way to go.

Hi, unzip the file to your addins folder then run excel and select Tools|Addins then browse for file and select it. You may also need to put a check against the name in the addin list. You have now installed the addin.

To use, first select some cells then click on the HTML menu and select Convert sheet to HTML. Your browser will start with the snapshot of the selected cells. Click the button to copy to the clipboard. If you have XP SP2 installed you will also need to click on the security bar at the top of the screen and allow activex content then click on button to copy to the clipboard.

Once copied simply paste into your post.
