HELLO! The table has 40 columns. The word "control" can be part of the text inside any cell in any row or column. I need to sort by rows that contain the word "control" as part of their text in ANY column. Do I have to create a sorting level for each of the 40 columns? Is there a quicker way to do it? KIND REGARDS

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
Welcome to the board!

Try this, which should return TRUE if 'control' is found within the text anywhere in A1:AN1 (adjust the range to suit). You'll need to paste down this formula in one helper column, then filter the helper column for TRUE.

=ISNUMBER(LOOKUP(9999,SEARCH("control",A1:AN1)))
