Sort data in Excel with blank rows?

Hi all,

I've tried searching here and spent few hours trying myself but I cannot find solution how to sort when there's blank rows. It always removes spaces in between.
I need to sort column B along with text that is on the same row.
Any suggestions?

Make sure B10 is the active cell before entering the formula.

OR :
Instead of • Type =B9 and press Ctrl+Enter

Type =
Press the up arrow
Press Ctrl+Enter

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Below is what it shows and happens after I manually select blank cells B9:B20 and hit CTRL+Enter

What formula is in the previously blank cells after pressing Ctrl+Enter ?

I mean cells B10, B12, B14, etc where you are supposed to enter a formula.
You are not following the steps.
Look again at post #11.

It is Ok by Typing the last nonblank "B17" cell instead of First nonblank "B9"

It is Ok by Typing the last nonblank "B17" cell instead of First nonblank "B9"
The last blank cell is B20, so the formula in this cell would be =B19
